Falling Leaves, Teresa C.

Falling Leaves

By Teresa C.

I know not everyone who is reading this lives where I do, and it's autumn here, but here's something to remember anyway!! So, the falling leaves kind of relate to the Christian life; when we come to Jesus, the old things (leaves) pass away, so we become a new person, and shed away all old leaves that are keeping you from growing in Jesus!

When you plant something, sometimes the dead leaves can keep the rest of the plant from growing, so you have to clip all of the old leaves off, so the plant can be healthy again. It's the same thing when you truly come to Jesus, "the old is passed away, and all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Some people think that they can be what I call half in/half out, but the Bible says in Revelation 3:16 "so because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth." So if we are half in/half out, God will spit us out! But the reason a lot of people are like that is because they haven't let go of the old ways, before they met Jesus; they are hanging on, they have not fully given their life to Christ.

When you have a plant you have to water it, or else it will die, but how can that relate to the Christian life? By reading our Bible! If we don't read our Bible, we can easily slip back into our old ways! I'm sure everyone knows someone who is not watering themselves (reading the Bible), and time is running short. Jesus is coming back soon! We cannot waste time!! So if you have some old leaves that need to be clipped off, and your soil is dry, just ask Jesus to help you - He will! Because He loves us all!! Have a blessed day!
