The Path of Purity, By Hannah H.

The Path of Purity

By Hannah H.

As Christian girls in this crazy generation, it is hard to keep our bodies, hearts, and thoughts pure sometimes.
You know how you can stay pure in heart, mind, and body? It's simple really, not always easy, but so simple.
Psalm 119: 9-10 says
"How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to my word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands."
Wow. Powerful words. To stay on the path of purity, you've just got to obey God and His Word, seek Him, and don't stray from His commands.

All right, imagine this situation. You're walking down the hallway, and you notice a poster about the school dance coming up in a couple of weeks. You zone out in dream land as you imagine yourself walking into the dance wearing that tiny dress that you saw in the store window last week. You'd look so pretty, and you would really get all the guys attention. You look down at what you're wearing now. It probably wasn't anymore pleasing to God than that dress you wanna go buy after school. A low cut top and tiny shorts. But, you decided it was okay, since you were hoping for someone, like maybe the most popular guy in school, to ask you to the dance. You return back to reality so you aren't late for math class. And just as you walk in, you remember that you forgot your homework! What are you going to do? And just in the nick of time, you see the homework of the smartest kid in the class laying right next to your desk. She must have dropped it. And now she's at the teacher's desk explaining the teacher that she must have left it at home and asking if she can bring it next week. The teacher isn't in a good mood. So now, this girl's got an F. Unless, you give her her paper. Or, you pick it up, erase her name from the top, and turn it in as yours. Oh well, you decide. After all, she is the smartest girl in class. One F won't hurt. After you turn it in and begin heading to your next class, you're feeling just a bit guilty. before you can think any more about it, the quarter back and the hottest guy in school stops you.
"Hey, I was wondering. You think you wanna go to the dance?" Your heart is pounding and you can hardly believe your ears!
"Y-y-yes."
"All right, sweet! Pick you up at 8?"
"Uhh..y-yeah!" Must be that outfit. Hmmm...just one problem. This guy, well he's always been known for his parties and sometimes sleeping around with girls. Oh well, you know where you stand and you'll be fine. As the weeks go on, you find yourself listening to bad music, going to parties, getting a little too physical with your new boyfriend, wearing revealing clothes, and you don't go to church much anymore. This is what happens when you compromise your values. Every choice you make leads to another. When you decide that something is okay, everything else is also. This week (and the next, and the next) remember not to compromise where you stand, don't be afraid to say no. God will bring Mr. Right into your life, and He will provide everything you need! Stay on the path of purity!

What Will You Say? By Hannah H.

What Will You Say?

By Hannah H.

So you're a Christian, you love Jesus, you'll take a stand for Him no matter what,  and life will be perfect! No one will ever make fun of you or your beliefs, and they will agree with everything you say! Something wrong with this picture? Yes!
As Christian teens, we need to be willing to stand up for God and share His love with others, but the Bible doesn't say that when we stand up for God everything will be perfect. To be quite honest, it's really the exact opposite. You probably won't be one of the "coolest" kids in school. And that guy you've had your eye on since grade school, well, he might like you, but he may not think your God is too "hot." There are certain sacrifices that come with living the Godly life, and when you live boldly and share God's love with others, you will be laughed at, you will be made fun of, and you will be persecuted.
So what are you going to do about that? Are you going to live like everyone else, compromising your values so you can fit it? Or are you going to stand up and make a sacrifice for the One who made the ultimate Sacrifice? I think 'B' would probably be my answer choice. If that's you, too, maybe you want some help. You want to know what to do when people laugh at you, so you're ready to take a stand.
But what do you do when the persecution comes? Let me tell you a little story. Going into middle school last year, I started a girl's Bible study that went really, really well. And I also invited people to church, and I led See You At The Pole. People laughed at me, called me names like "Preacher Girl" or "Jesus Freak." At first this bothered me, but then I saw that the Bible tells me persecution is an opportunity to share God's love. When someone laughs at you for, say, a Christian t-shirt you wear, outsmart them and tell them about it. One time I wore a church t-shirt and this guy laughed at me. So I told him about our youth group and then invited him. They usually don't have anything to say about that.
So when you are persecuted use it as an opportunity to share or just brush it off. If someone ever threatens you though, you have to take that seriously and tell an adult.
So remember this week to stand up, and do not be afraid of what people have to say about it!

Serving God with Your Talents, By Hannah H.

Serving God with Your Talents

By Hannah H.
Godly Girls! So sorry you haven't heard from me in quite a while. I have been very busy, but no worries ladies, I'm back in business! Hillary Beth asked me to write about how to put our spiritual gifts into action. I believe that this is so important, now more than ever.
As preteen/teen girls in this generation, we are watching so many things happen right now. Girls are dressing immodestly, and having premarital sex, and hurting themselves, and doing all kinds of things that we as Christian girls walking with God are not doing. I think if we ask God to use our lives to show our peers His love, His mercy, His hope, everything that they will see that what He has to offer is so much better than anything the world could ever give us. So, right now, commit to something for a week. Every day when you wake up in the morning, at least for the next seven days, pray this simple prayer.
God, take everything and use my life.
That's it. God will completely blow you away if you truly mean those words and you believe them. That is the prayer I said as I walked into the first day of middle school a little over a year ago. And some of you may have read what God used me to do in my school. I started a Christian girls club called "Pure Heart Girlz" and it has truly impacted girls’ lives, it is still going great!! So no matter what you're good at, or what dream God has placed in your heart, I promise you, He can and will use your life. Maybe you don't know what your gift is - that's okay. Pray and ask God. He will let you know!
So my challenge to you is to pray that prayer for a whole week and then let us know what God did in your life!

Your Future, By Hannah H.

Your Future

 By Hannah H.
Hey, girls I was just going to give you a little encouragement on how God sees your future.
The F in future stands for fearless because we should not fear, God is here!
The U stands for un-ashamed because we are not ashamed of such an amazing God!
The T stands for truthfulness, because the Bible says that truth will set you free.
The U stands for un-deniable because no one can deny that your future is BRIGHT!!!
The R stands for righteousness because a righteous life is important.
The E stands for ever lasting life, because if your child of God, your future surely holds everlasting life!

Another Fairy Tale? By Hannah H.

Another Fairy Tale?

By Hannah H.

Hello Godly Girls! Sometimes, it is hard for me to wrap my mind around God! In today's devotion we are going to talk about what to do when the doubts come.

Sometimes, as I belt out Taylor Swift's songs that are filled with both true love, and amazing fairy tales, I get to thinking "Is this whole 'God' thing just another Cinderella fairy tale?" I assure you, it is not a fairy tale. God is so real. But we are natural, and He is supernatural; we will never be able to completely wrap our mind around Him. We need to live by faith.

What to do when the doubt creeps in:

1. Remember The Rainbow
Remember all of the promises that God made in the Bible and how they are still with us 2,000+ years later. For example, the rainbow. God promised after He flooded the whole earth in Noah's day, that He would never flood the earth again. That is why he put the rainbow in the sky, which is still there every time it rains.

2. He Has Been Faithful
Remember that time that God helped you ace that math test in the third grade? Or the time He healed your little sister of that terrible stomach flu? Well, maybe you don't remember all the little things like that. So, to help you remember you can do a fun little craft. Here are the instructions:

Supplies:
A notebook in your favorite color
Markers or Crayons
Jewels or Stickers(optional)
Glue

What To Do:
A.Decorate you notebook by writing a scripture, your name, ANYTHING, in marker or crayon
B.Glue on jewels
C.Decorate with stickers

Whenever you are finished with your notebook, keep it some where you will always remember. Then every time God does something good in you life, write it in your notebook so that you can look back at it when you need a reminder.

3.Go to your concordance (in the back of your Bible) and look up words like 'believe' so that God's Word can help you out! (It will give you verses to look up on the topic you choose.)

Remember that God is real!!!!!!

Love,
Hannah
