Marriage: A Wonderful Gift From God

Marriage!
What an absolutely wonderful gift from God. I think about getting
married a lot, and I think most girls do to. I think that my prince
charming is going to be a wonderful man who loves Jesus with all his
heart, and loves me too!
That’s
the most important thing I want from my husband, for him to love Jesus
and want to please Jesus more than anything else. That’s so important
to me! If he loves Jesus more than anything, and wants to obey Jesus
with everything… that means he is going to love me so much because
that’s how he is being obedient to the Lord!
I go to so many different fashion stores online to look at all the modest
wedding dresses and I could spend all day doing that and not be bored
at all! I look at all the bouquets and corsages and veils and
headpieces and the halls all decorated and the church all decorated… I
just get so excited!
When
I think about my future husband loving me like Jesus loves the church I
get all goose bumps! I think every girl wants that. I never met
Hillary who made GGFG, but she told me she was engaged to be married and
how happy she is! She is very pretty and her fiancée is a very
handsome man and they both love Jesus. I am so happy for her and I pray
that their love for Jesus and each other lasts forever and ever. Such a
wonderful time!

This
is all I want from my future husband!!! It kind of sounds like it’s
not a lot, but to me that means everything! That’s love!!! What do you

Food or Rocks?

Sometimes
when I read the Bible it’s really hard to understand. I have to read
it over and over and sometimes that helps me, but a lot of times it
doesn’t. My dad told me if I really want to know the Bible, I have to
know what Israel was like back in the days of Jesus.
I
love history and I thought this would be really fun. Well, I was
reading Matthew chapter 7 and I didn’t really see anything about
Israel’s history. But when I read verse 9 I started laughing so hard. I
was thinking that this must be the Jesus comedy hour! I read it again
and I couldn’t stop laughing. I though those people couldn’t be that
stupid… or could they?

7:9 it says: Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will
give him a stone? I thought that’s a really cruel dad that would do
that! Then I thought what would I do if my dad did that to me? If I
asked my dad for 5 dollars and he gave me a pumpkin, I would think
“Kaylee, he’s starting to lose it!” But then I was thinking that maybe
Jesus was saying it so easy, or making it so simple that they would
really understand.
Maybe
Jesus said such a stupid thing, so that they would believe Him when
they asked Him for something. So if I ask Jesus to help me get a better
grade in math, will He give me a better grade in History? I think if
we ask Jesus for something that’s going to really help us, we should
believe Him that He’ll give us what we ask Him for!
Gifts

Have you ever thought about your purpose? Your worth? How have you ever
thought about what you wanted to be as an adult? Have you ever wondered
what your gifts are? What you were made to do? When your a teenager, or
just growing up, we start think about jobs, majors in college, and just
how you will end up in life.
"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these
members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many,
form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."(Romans
12:4-5 NIV)
This verse is talking about how your body has lots of "members". Like
you have your arms, your legs, your head. But can the arm do the heads
job? The head the legs job? No! These verses are explaining that we need
all the different parts to do what they are food at to make a whole.
And then we get to the body of the church. We all, with our different
parts make one body.
The Bible goes on to say:
"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If
your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;
if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to
encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give
generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy,
do it cheerfully."(Romans 12:6-8 NIV)
So just how the head can't do the legs part, can the pastor do the car
repair man's job? Can the singer do the sewer's job? No, we all have our
gifts, which then shows us our job. If your gift is teaching people,
you might want to consider being a teacher. If your gift is showing
mercy, then consider mission trips, and as the verse says "do it
cheerfully".
These verses are showing that with all your different gifts and jobs
that God has given you, we use them all to God's glory to make the body
of the church. We might not be praising God in our job, but if we
remember who gave us those gifts, and we use them for good and what they
are intended for, we are praising God. We are also being an example to
those who see us. I go to a Christian school, and whenever we go on some
sort of field-trip, we are told to make sure we are an example to those
who see us. If non-Christians see how you act, you might not have to
preach to convert them! Just show the gifts God has given you!
So, what are your gifts? What special purpose has God given you to use
for his Glory? Think about, talk to you parents, or your pastor. Find
out how you can best help your church body. As my youth pastor says,
"Help our big family."
Naive: A Gift From God

When you begin to become a teenager, many changes happen to your body
and you begin to mature. You also learn many new things. It's difficult
in the ungodliness of this world not to accidentally learn trashy
thoughts. In fact, you can't watch just about any movie without hearing a
profanity or seeing something that's inappropriate.
When you were little, you wouldn't have known what the bad word was or
what they were doing was so wrong. But, because you're older, you
understand. You're not so naive anymore.
Often, groups of girls talk about things, and there will be one girl who
doesn't understand what they are saying and the other girls will make
fun of her and call her a baby. I believe that it's wonderful when there
are still naive girls, girls who don't know "everything."
I used to be one of those girls. My parents kept me out of the world and
what, for most people, are perfectly normal things and sayings.
However, as I got older, I eventually discovered these things for
myself. I learned profane words and understood inappropriate
conversations.
It wasn't all learned at one time, of course, it was a slow process. But
before, there was a sense of innocence, sweetness. I thought the world
was all delightful and a wonderful place to be. I've since discovered
it's not. If you're still young, treasure those years. Be thankful to
God you don't understand vulgar sayings and trash talk.
