What do the Titanic and Salvation have in common?

      The Titanic was a great ship. Beautiful huge and apparently unsinkable.

Just as the world was before Adam and Eve sinned. After sin there was a problem. Just like the Titanic sank when it hit the iceberg we are sinking in sin. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Well, that verse can be depressing. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's perfection. And Romans 6:23a says "For the wages of sin is death." If we stop there we
all deserve death, but wait, here is the rest: "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The Titanic was sinking but there were the life boats. The people that got in the life boats were later rescued by the Carpathia.

Just like Jesus rescued us from eternal death by dying on the cross. But we have a choice to ask Jesus to save us from sin and go to heaven when we die or we can reject Him and then suffer eternal death (hell) when we die. The people on the Titanic had a choice whether or not to get in the life boats. Many of the people didn't get in the life boats they didn't think the Titanic would sink but it did and so did they but those in the lifeboats survived. Those that stayed on
the Titanic drowned just like we are going to drown in sin if we don't ask Jesus to save us. Jesus is our life boat. The people had a choice to stay on ship and later drown or get into a life boat and be rescued. We also have a choice to be saved from sin and go to heaven or to keep drowning in sin and go to hell. I hope that all of you have made the decision to be rescued from sin but if you haven't follow these steps to be saved.

  A. Admit that you are a sinner
  B. Believe that Jesus is God's Son and that He died for so that you can be saved
  C. Confess your sins to God

If you have done that then you have been saved from your sins and will go to heaven when you die. You are also a child of God. We are all sisters in Christ. *Editor's Note: We do also recognize that there were not enough life boats aboard the Titanic to sustain everyone on board. Thankfully, God's salvation is offered freely to all, and He doesn't have too few life rafts ;) 2 Timothy 2:3-6 "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Becoming a Christian is more drastic than getting married, but dead simple. Do you think you’re ready to join the revolution of hope and fight for Jesus? Here it is, the ABC of starting over!
      A is For ADMIT
We can’t just cruise up to the Almighty as if we’re in business. If you want to be a Christian, you’ve got to say you’re sorry. You need to be ready, with God’s help to sack every wrong action, word and thought that you know he doesn’t like, and start all over again.
      B is For BELIEVE
It’s pretty obvious, but if you want to be a Christian, you’ve got to believe in Jesus and trust that when he died on the cross, he was taking the punishment for all the wrong things you have ever done
      C is For CONSIDER
Being a Christian isn’t the soft option-you need to think it through before making your choice. When you give everything to God, some people think you’re a bit weird. It will cost you time and energy to be a real Christian. But in return you get the fullest life now and eternal life when you die.
      D is For DO IT
If you know it’s true, there’s no point hanging around. Go for it! You are not a Christian because you know the facts about Jesus-you’ve actually got to do something about it. Jesus said this: “Here I am, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. I never said it would be easy; I only said it would be worth it” (Revelation 3:20)
If you have heard the truth and would like to give your life to Him pray these prayers:
Lord Jesus, I want to follow you. I know I’ve done loads of bad things. I know I don’t deserve to go to heaven. I am truly sorry and I turn away from everything that I know if wrong in my life. Thank you so much for dying in my place. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. With you’re help, I’ll live all out for you for the rest of my life. Amen

Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and now turn away from everything I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the cross to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen

When did you accept Christ? When did you decide to give your life to God? And most importantly; why did you accept Christ?
I know from personal experience, that lot of kids accept Christ because their parents are Christians. They grow up going to church every Sunday, they pray before each meal; and then some time when there little, the parents pray with them to accept Jesus into their hearts. But sometimes because we grow up with these circumstances, we don't really realize what accepting God is really about.
Now, whenever you grow up not in a Christian family, you might see things a little differently. You didn't grow up with the church and reading the Bible, you accepted God by your own. Sometimes, this example might be a bit "healthier" for a Christian, because it puts life in a different light.
Whenever you accepted Jesus, did your life change? Did you look at the way you live in a new way? Most times, whenever you grow up in a Christian family, you might not feel that way. Life stays the same since that was the way you were raised. But if you accepted Christ yourself, when you didn't grow up with Christ, you might see things differently. You see your lifestyle change, and you notice maybe how your actions might of dishonored God before you found him.
Now, back to the point. We sometimes need to think about why we accept God. Should we accept him because we are told to, or because we see our need for him? Answer: b *ding ding ding!* We need to realize why we accept God.
We need to take time in our day to think about how we are saved and why we are saved. We need to thank God for bringing his word to us, and we need to try and bring him to others. So, this week I would really like you to think about why you accepted Christ into your heart.
