Serving God with Your Talents, By Hannah H.

Serving God with Your Talents

By Hannah H.
Godly Girls! So sorry you haven't heard from me in quite a while. I have been very busy, but no worries ladies, I'm back in business! Hillary Beth asked me to write about how to put our spiritual gifts into action. I believe that this is so important, now more than ever.
As preteen/teen girls in this generation, we are watching so many things happen right now. Girls are dressing immodestly, and having premarital sex, and hurting themselves, and doing all kinds of things that we as Christian girls walking with God are not doing. I think if we ask God to use our lives to show our peers His love, His mercy, His hope, everything that they will see that what He has to offer is so much better than anything the world could ever give us. So, right now, commit to something for a week. Every day when you wake up in the morning, at least for the next seven days, pray this simple prayer.
God, take everything and use my life.
That's it. God will completely blow you away if you truly mean those words and you believe them. That is the prayer I said as I walked into the first day of middle school a little over a year ago. And some of you may have read what God used me to do in my school. I started a Christian girls club called "Pure Heart Girlz" and it has truly impacted girls’ lives, it is still going great!! So no matter what you're good at, or what dream God has placed in your heart, I promise you, He can and will use your life. Maybe you don't know what your gift is - that's okay. Pray and ask God. He will let you know!
So my challenge to you is to pray that prayer for a whole week and then let us know what God did in your life!

Serving and Worshiping the Lord, By Megan H.

Serving and Worshiping the Lord

By Megan H.

I am one who enjoys to sing and praise the Lord. Doesn't matter if I am in my room sitting or doing chores around the house; I am always singing, praying, or thinking about God and what I can do to please Him.

Isaiah 25:1
O Lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name, for thou hast done wonderful things, thy counsel of old are faithfulness and truth.

The Bible also speaks of praising only God.

Exodus 20:3-5

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.

Revelation 22:8-9

And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things. Then he saith unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: Worship God.

Make sure to not worship things around you. Even though we do not have idols to bow to, we still can think and dwell on things more than we should, or more than we think and dwell on God.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Serving During Christmas Time, By Julianna O.

Serving During Christmas Time

By Julianna O.

There are multiple ways you can serve during the Christmas season, but I'm only going to talk about three ways for now. One way is by packing toys, hairbrushes and other things that are useful inside a shoebox and sending it to Haiti or some other country that doesn't have very much. Number two, you can donate money to the Salvation Army. Lastly, help out at your church.

One way is to pack toys, hairbrushes and so on inside a shoebox. This is called Operation Christmas Child. You can find the website on Google by searching "Operation Christmas Child. " (Or try this link: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ )My school did this one year a couple of years ago , and I had fun giving toys and a lot of stuff to other countries. That is one way you can serve during the Christmas season.

The second way is to donate money to Salvation Army. In front of a couple of stores (most likely Wal-Mart or Kmart) , there will be a bucket that has a sign that does say "Salvation Army Donations," or something like that , and next to the bucket is a person ringing a bell. They have a website too. Just search Salvation Army, or try this link: http://salvationarmyusa.org/ That's the second way you can serve during Christmas.

Last but not least, you can serve during Christmas by helping out at your church. If your church is doing a Nativity Scene for Christmas, help out in any way you can. If your church is having a Christmas lunch or dinner, make something to eat, help get the tables set , and so on. That's the last thing you can do to serve during Christmas time.

That's how I'm going to or have served during Christmas time. You can do Operation Christmas Child, donate to Salvation Army , and help out at your church. I hope you do the same things I do this Christmas season.
