Caring For Others - By Julianna O.

Caring For Others
By Julianna O.
You can care for all sorts of people; children, the elderly, pastors, handicapped, families, and the poor are some examples of who you can care for. I am going to share with you how to care for families, children, and the elderly.
To start off, families - everyone has one. Me, you, and your friends have a family. To care for families, not just your family but other families too, you can babysit for them if they have kids. If you know someone whose family member passed away, bring over some food for them. Also another great way to help families is to help them with household chores. If you know a family who has lots of children and their house gets messy a lot, offer to help them clean it.
Children are wonderful, smart, and pretty sweet, but at times they can be a little mean. You still have to care for them, too. Here are some ways you can care for them. You can play with them and teach them about Jesus at their level. There is a verse in the Bible that says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” That is from Proverbs 22:6 and it’s a wonderful verse, telling you that if you tell little children about Jesus, they will stick with it until they are older. You also can have the kids you are watching, or teaching, color a picture for the elderly - which brings me to my next point.
The elderly are intelligent people. Even though they forget things, you can always learn something from them. That’s why we should care for them, too, and you can do different things to care for them. The first way: you can visit them and talk to them. What should I talk about to them? You are probably asking yourself that question, and I have an awesome answer. Talk to them about their past or talk to them about how you are doing. That is an awesome way so you know a little more about their history. You can also write to them, too. There is a verse in 1 Timothy 5:1-2 and it says this, “Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.” This is why I hang out at my grandma’s house a lot.
Romans 12:10 says, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” This means when caring for others you should do it in love and honor them above yourself.
