The Christian's 4th of July

For many citizens state-wide the 4th of July, also known as Independence day, is a holiday reminding Americans of the day their country received independence from Great Britain. While this is the primary reason why people celebrate I believe that Christians should look at this day as a reminder of the freedom we've received from sin through Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. And guess what you don't have to wait to the 4th day of any month to celebrate this special "holiday". So why don't you start right now! Below I will list a few verses that discuss our God-given freedom just to get you on the right track. 

John 8:36”So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free." 

Galatians 5:1 "So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law." 

Galatians 5:13”For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." 

2 Corinthians 3:17”For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." 

Romans 6:22 "But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life." 

Romans 8:1-2 "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death."
