Love

This
is the first in nine devotionals that talk about The Fruits of the Spirit. I'll
start with a verse. Matthew 5:44-45 says,
" But I tell you: Love
your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your
Father in Heaven."
I
looked up the word love in my NIV index and it said,
"Love-
wanting good to come to another person; being concerned and willing to work for
another person's benefit."
Love
is a big word. Biblical love is,however, not in our power. 1st John 4:16b
says,
"... God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in
him."
We
can not love to the extent God wants us to. We can only love that much if we
have Jesus Christ in our lives. HE died on the cross for us, taking the
punishment you and I deserved. Ladies, that is the epitome of love! John 15:13
says,
"
Greater love has no one that this, that he lay down his life for his
friends."
That
is what Jesus did; and for that you owe him your heart.
