Power in Prayer
By Kaitlyn F.
To live a Christian life style, prayer is
something that is often practiced. But how many of us believe in what we pray?
We all say the short little prayers when we are struggling, but many of us fall
into the trap of thinking that nothing will come from it. Prayer is communicating
with someone who "isn’t there." It is easy to believe that we aren’t being heard,
or that God isn’t doing anything about our prayers. But the Bible mentions many
times about the power of prayer.
James 5:15 says, “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person
well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”
Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
John 15:7 says, “If you
abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be
done for you.”
These three verses are
just a glimpse of how important prayer is. God does hear you, and he does want
to know about you, what you are feeling, your struggles, your successes; he
wants all of it. So if you are struggling in prayer, or if you doubt if God is
really listening, take these three verses and all others in the Bible to heart,
and believe in what the Bible say is the truth.
