Christ born on Christmas day, By Tammie C.

Christ born on Christmas day

By Tammie C.

Again it's Christmas and girls I know you are preparing for the day that Jesus is born because you are part of the life He offered for us. First thing to do is to wake up early and make a day that leads you to where you will find Jesus Christ. Forget the hesitations and leave it all behind because this day is a big day for all of us.
Now, can you feel the air of the ber-wind? It touches every one of us and reminds us that it will be a brand new year coming, and how Jesus lives in our hearts. You have the Spirit, girls - make it a unique and godly day for you.
Go to church and pray, for Jesus Christ, His birthday is today, the day we celebrate the coming of the second part of the trinity was born. Remind yourself that He is with you always, whenever you're sad or lonely, and even in the tip of happiness in your life. Believe that every one of us has the faith and can do God's will for this year. Walk with sincerity in your heart you will never forget that the love of God binds you to Him. Christmas calls you to be ready to face the day, keeping in mind that His day is coming again.

7 steps to become unique this Christmas

1. Prepare a very nice food to celebrate with your loved ones

2. With that food drink a delicious drink

3. Remember to go to church

4. Dress yourself for this special occasion

5. Pray through your feelings and emotions about this time of celebration

6. Walk through the day - don't rush

7. Keep it simple but make it your own day in little ways

In All Honesty, By Gabby M.

In All Honesty

By Gabby M.

In all honesty, we shouldn't have had a chance at even a fraction of the kind of lives we lead. Especially as Americans, we were born with more than enough to keep us doing reasonably well, if not thriving. Sure, we've all had our ups and downs in life. I can say I've had my fair share of hurt and trials. But do we ever just stop and think about how incredibly blessed we are?

The other day I was watching television, and a commercial came on advertising mascara, and again, it was dramatized to the point where I just had to roll my eyes. Seriously? How is it even possible to dress up an eye product commercial that much?

But this time, I did more than just sigh and roll my eyes. Something different happened. Suddenly I was viewing the commercial in the mind of someone who is from a third-world country, and this is what I saw:

A white American, flashy lights, booming colors, and a rich snob who knew nothing of what she had. She was trashy. Greedy. Vain. Ungrateful. I suddenly had no desire to purchase what she was selling and instead felt a burning anger toward the American way of life.

Can you imagine what would go through their mind? Take Haiti for example. They just suffered an earthquake not long ago, and are still in ruins. And here we are, trampling each other and camping outside the store on Black Friday, just so we can get STUFF. That's all it is, just stuff. And most of it we don't need.

I am really getting sick of all the selfishness and lack of gratitude I'm seeing in people today. We are so busy going after what we want that we can't appreciate what we already have.

I know the statement I'm making is bold, and I am saying this having been guilty of this attitude myself. But God has opened my eyes to see that life is more than boys, celebrities, drugs, parties, test finals, internet and even friends. I am just going to go ahead and go all "mom" on you guys and say, "There are kids in Africa who don't even get Christmas presents!!"

But back to a more serious note...the older I get, the more I find this statement to be more than a "mom" thing. I know when I get to be a mother I will probably say the same thing no matter how much my kids talk back, because we must appreciate what we have. It keeps us from being selfish, and prevents negativity in thoughts which, if left unattended, will quickly spiral into depression.
Jesus had a hard life. He was born in a barn, for starters. That's pretty weird for a king, don't you think? Then growing up, he had to play with his friends without sinning. What about peer pressure? Or when they treat you wrong? Then in his adulthood, his days were full of stress and crowds of people pressing in on him, wanting him only for what he had and not for who he was. He healed people even when his best friend passed away and he wanted nothing more but to be alone. He didn't have a place to stay, and I wouldn't be surprised if some nights he had to sleep on the street.
But he still loved people, no matter how self-centered.. He still came to bring us peace, hope, healing, and truth. All those things we would do well to offer to each other this Christmas year.

In all honesty, we don't deserve what he has given to us. But he gave freely, and so should we.

Merry Christmas everyone. :)

Thank You, Lord Jesus, By Trish M.

Hello beautiful sisters in spirit. I just want to greet you all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and start off by quoting a song as per usual . This song says “ He paid a debt he did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay, I needed someone to wash my sins away and now I sing a brand new song, amazing grace , How sweet the sound, Christ Jesus Paid the debt that I could never pay” .

Think about it.

We were born from/of sin which was original sin by Adam and Eve. We are all sinners, every single one of us and the word of God says that sin is punishable by death. Basically someone had to die or else we would all die. Jesus himself, the lion of Judah, the son of God died just for you and me.
When I think about this, I start to cry because how incredible is it that thousands of years before you were born, somebody loved you enough to let themselves be crucified. Someone cared about you enough to give up their life for you. This is a very big deal.
I would just like to encourage you to repeat this prayer thanking Lord Jesus for dying for you.
A prayer of thanks:
Lord Jesus, I love you. Jesus you are a wonderful king, I exalt your mighty name for there is no one else like you. Jesus I just want to thank you for dying on the cross for me, my family, my friends, everybody before me and everybody after me. Jesus Christ, what you did as the ultimate gift of love and I just want to love you back. You are the Messiah, you are the mighty Savior. Thank you once again.
Amen.

Distractions: Stressful and Depressing, By Tammie C.

Distractions: Stressful and Depressing

By Tammie C.

Girls, we know that we are easily upset; sometimes the simplest things we do cause us to give up. But then sometimes we are strong, because we have our dignity at stake in everything we do, so, we survive. That’s how we handle things, right? Even in the last drop, we always make things last as long as possible. Distractions are so common that they make our fast-paced daily lives seem normal. We always think that being depressed is a lonely mode and being stressful is very hard to work with. But look at the brighter way instead - remember each good thing that happens in your day when you feel stressed or depressed, and break the cycle. Maybe today you would have a break from things that rush up every day. Don’t fill your time with more busy, pointless things. Keep your day happy and right - don’t be trapped in those worldly problems. We know that God is with us, and every single day we live, He is always guiding us, and watching us walk on the path where He will lead us. Make it a day worth it to you, and for Him.
Do you notice that every time we are stressed out we would rather cook some comfort food for dinner instead of going outside? When you are depressed maybe you would appreciate someone giving you a hug and treating you to lunch. In these simple ways we try to overcome the stress or depression. We can help those around us by noticing them again and making them feel that we are with them in that stressful day.
Also, it is good to observe the Sabbath, a day where you come back to God for all those things that put a rush in your day. When you lay down in your bed, pray for the things that happen and suppose it will be for the good. The Holy Spirit intercedes to the Father for us, too.
Remember always: Sabbath is God’s rest for the fast-paced of the world.

Psalm 118:24, By Ella P.

Psalm 118:24

By Ella P.

Sometimes I get the feeling that God isn't with me - that He's too busy with all the miracles and life saving to deal with my little problems. For instance, today I was getting my math test back. I had been praying for days that He would help me get better grades... I'd been trying so hard and was confident this time I would get at least a low B. When I got my test back, before looking at it, I said a prayer. When I turned it over... AN F!!!! It felt like a giant wave just hit me in the face.
Why wasn't God there for me? Why did He let me fail? Turns out He was there all along. I realized it when I read this:

Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and and be glad in it.”

It showed me that God is there for me good times and bad. And to rejoice in each day. Celebrate life! Even when things don't turn out the way you want. Like my dad always says, "God doesn't always give you what you want, He gives you what you need."
Maybe that grade was just motivation for me to try harder next time! I shouldn't let adversity get in the way of my happiness. I now know that God is always there for me!
Thank you Psalms! :)

Trust in God's Plan for You - Above what you know, By Christian N.

Trust in God's Plan for You - Above what you know

Matthew 11:25 & 26

"I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father for this is what you were pleased to do."

1. The Father has revealed these things to the little children. In this passage Jesus is not talking about age, but faith. Someone who has earned a Masters in philosophy or divinity, and pursues leadership, without being called by God to do so, will often weaken in their faith. Why? Well some old family friends of my dad's said it was because they learned so much, that they could not understand how anything could be outside of the rules of nature that they have learned. For example, look at Joshua chapter 10. To scientists and astrologists, the impossible happened. Even if God had told them that this was coming, their doubt would have cast that out because they trust what they have learned over what God says and can do. Time stopped until the battle of the Israelites versus the Amorites had been won. Joshua, who probably knew nothing about astronomy, believed that God would lead them to victory, because he had faith.
2. "Yes, Father for this is what you were pleased to do." Not, please, will please, are pleased, but were pleased. This is past tense; God has already anointed you as a spokesman to the world, and it doesn’t matter if you run like Jonah or if you hide like Jacob. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or what you will do. It's already done. You’ve got to move past the mistakes, and accept God's calling.
Now some things God has given us as a dream/vision in our hearts. He has given even the most unlikely of us a dream already! And He intends to bring His plans to pass.
You have been given the keys, What are you going to do?

Love, By Joy Wie-Addo

Love

By Joy Wie-Addo
1Samuel 18:1-4, John 15:11-14

Love forgets mistakes, but “nagging about them parts the best of friends” says Solomon in Proverbs 17:9b.

Overlooking offenses is necessary in any relationship. We should be willing to forgive others’ offenses against us. It’s quiet tempting, especially when there is misunderstanding, to recall all the offenses the other person ever committed against us.

The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty. We should love our neighbours and friends at all times and be available to help in time of need and distress. Do not be a fair-weather friend. Fair-weather friends get close when the friendship helps and they leave when they are not getting anything out of the relationship.

The love of a true friend is constant. Think of your friends and asses your loyalty and love to them. Your company may help someone feel at ease, your smile may be a source of encouragement to someone; it may be soothing to the depressed soul of a friend. Your actions may just calm down rising anxiety in a friend. You need your friend and your friend needs you. Are you being the David or Jonathan of your friendship?

Be the model of the friend the Bible encourages.
